Model Aircraft Club
About Us
The Club meets at the Henry Dixon Hall, Rivenhall on the second Wednesday of each month, starting at 8:00pm.

The Committee strives to provide varied activities at the club nights, such as talks, film shows, various competitions and very occasionally auctions. In recent years, the June meeting has been given over to a barbeque down at the flying field (dependant on weather).

The Annual General Meeting is held in October each year.

Although the premises does not have a bar members can bring their own drinks or partake in tea or coffee. The atmosphere is always convivial with many members bringing in their latest projects to talk about.
A number of members now bring small helicopters to broaden their skills.
The Ospreys Model Aircraft Club was formed in January 2007 and flies at a location south of Chelmsford.

At it’s first AGM the decision was taken to turn the club into the ‘First all electric aeromodelling club in Essex’.

This decision had an impact as members that wanted to fly I.C left.
However, with electronic, motor and battery advancement we are now enjoying larger aircraft with generally better flight performance over it’s counterpart,  but much quieter. This has proven that electric is the way forward and the decision was right for the club.

Ospreys MAC follows safe practices that are embedded in it’s constitution and operational rules.  It also follows regulations and requirements laid down by the BMFA to ensure that all flying is safe.

The Club is environmentally aware and strives to work with the environment to ensure the natural habitat is in no way affected by our presence. In fact it has been proven by some clubs that this is not only achievable but can be surpassed, ensuring local natural growth.
